Plaňany (German: Planian) is a market town in Kolín District in the Central Bohemian Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 1,900 inhabitants. Villages of Blinka, Hradenín and Poboří are administrative parts of Plaňany. Plaňany is located about 12 kilometres (7 mi) west of Kolín and 35 km (22 mi) east of Prague. It lies in a flat agricultural landscape of the Central Elbe Table. The highest point is the hill Mukařov at 331 m (1,086 ft) above sea level.
