Podegrodzie [pɔdɛˈɡrɔd͡ʑɛ] is a village in Nowy Sącz County, Lesser Poland Voivodeship, in southern Poland. It is the seat of the gmina (administrative district) called Gmina Podegrodzie. It lies approximately 11 kilometres (7 mi) south-west of Nowy Sącz and 72 km (45 mi) south-east of the regional capital Kraków. The village has a population of 1,700. Podegrodzie is the seat of one of the oldest Roman Catholic parishes in historic Lesser Poland. It was probably established here in 1014 by Boleslaw Chrobry, because in the early Middle Ages, two fortified gord existed in this area: Zamczysko and Grobla.
