Rossens (French: , Franco-Provençal:  (listen)) is a former municipality in the district of Sarine in the canton of Fribourg in Switzerland. On 1 January 2016 it merged with Corpataux-Magnedens, Farvagny, Le Glèbe and Vuisternens-en-Ogoz to form the new municipality of Gibloux. Rossens is first mentioned in 1162 as Rossens. The municipality was formerly known by its German name Rossing, however, that name is no longer used. Rossens had an area, as of 2009, of 5.1 square kilometers (2.0 sq mi). Of this area, 2.43 km2 (0.94 sq mi) or 47.6% is used for agricultural purposes, while 1.76 km2 (0.68 sq mi) or 34.5% is forested. Of the rest of the land, 0.82 km2 (0.32 sq mi) or 16.1% is settled (buildings or roads), 0.04 km2 (9.9 acres) or 0.8% is either rivers or lakes. More information...
