Schönenbuch (Swiss German: Schönebuech) is a municipality in the district of Arlesheim in the canton of Basel-Landschaft in Switzerland. Schönenbuch is first mentioned in 1315 as Schoenenbuoch. It became an independent municipality in 1816. Schönenbuch has an area, as of 2009, of 1.36 square kilometers (0.53 sq mi). Of this area, 0.89 km2 (0.34 sq mi) or 65.4% is used for agricultural purposes, while 0.02 km2 (0.0077 sq mi) or 1.5% is forested.
