Tezpur (/tɛzˈpʊər/) is a city and urban agglomeration in Sonitpur district, Assam state, India. Tezpur is located on the banks of the river Brahmaputra, 175 kilometres (109 mi) northeast of Guwahati, and is the largest of the north bank cities with a population of 140,000 as per Metropolitan Census 2023. Tezpur has several tourist attractions: The average high temperature in summer is around 31 °C (88 °F) while the average winter low temperature is around 13 °C (55 °F). According to the 2011 census, the population of the Tezpur city Municipal Corporation area is 102,505.
