State Center is a city in Marshall County, Iowa, United States. The population was 1,391 at the time of the 2020 census. State Center is known as the Rose Capital of Iowa. State Center got its start in the year 1864, following construction of the railroad through the territory. It was named for its location near the geographical center of the state. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.98 square miles (2.54 km2), all land.
