Stockport Academy is a non-selective co-educational school within the English Academy programme, located in Cheadle Heath, Stockport, Greater Manchester. It caters for children aged 11–16 and has approximately 869 pupils on roll. The school opened officially in September 2007 as a replacement of Avondale High School, which later moved into a new building in 2008, which was constructed on the same site by Bowmer & Kirkland, the school run by academy organisation United Learning, formerly the United Church Schools Trust. which opened the academy after Avondale was to be shut down.
