Sulgen is a municipality in Weinfelden District in the canton of Thurgau in Switzerland. Sulgen has an area, as of 2009, of 9.13 square kilometers (3.53 sq mi). Of this area, 6.12 km2 (2.36 sq mi) or 67.0% is used for agricultural purposes, while 1.18 km2 (0.46 sq mi) or 12.9% is forested. Of the rest of the land, 1.7 km2 (0.66 sq mi) or 18.6% is settled (buildings or roads), 0.03 km2 (7.4 acres) or 0.3% is either rivers or lakes and 0.07 km2 (17 acres) or 0.8% is unproductive land. Of the built up area, industrial buildings made up 10.1% of the total area while housing and buildings made up 2.5% and transportation infrastructure made up 0.4%. while parks, green belts and sports fields made up 4.9%.
