Shenyang Conservatory of Music (Chinese: 沈阳音乐学院) is a music college in Shenyang, Liaoning Province, China. It is one of nine major conservatories in China. Established in 1938, the school serves approximately 8,000 students in undergraduate, graduate, and professional studies. The school was founded in 1938 as Luxun Academy of Arts (鲁迅艺术文学院) by Communist Party of China leaders, including Mao Zedong and Zhou Enlai, Lin Boch, Xu Teli, Cheng Fangwu, Ai Siqi, Zhou Yang and other older generations of proletarian revolutionaries in the town of Yan'an, Shaanxi province. The school moved to Shenyang and was renamed the Northeast Lu Xun College of Literature and Art at the end of 1948. In 1953, the Musical Technical School of the Northeast was founded on the base of the Academy’s music department and was renamed the Shenyang Conservatory of Music. Shenyang Conservatory of Music is one of the best famous conservatory in China. In 2008, the Conservatory celebrated its 70th anniversary.
