Sydney Football Club is an Australian professional soccer club based in Sydney, New South Wales. It competes in the country's premier men's competition, A-League Men, under licence from Australian Professional Leagues (APL). The club was founded in 2004 and entered the A-League as one of the eight original teams for the inaugural 2005–06 season. Sydney is the most successful soccer club in Australian history, having won five Championships and four Premierships in the A-League, as well as one FFA Cup and the Oceania Champions League in 2005, prior to Australia joining the Asian Football Confederation. The club has become a dominant force and consistent performer in recent times within the top-flight, a surge led by managers Graham Arnold (2014–2018) and Steve Corica (2018–present). From 2015 until 2021, the club achieved a top-two finish (thereby winning qualification for the Asian Champions League) in six out of seven seasons, appeared in five A-League Grand Finals and three FFA Cup Finals, and won seven major trophies.
