Szczodre [ˈʂt͡ʂɔdrɛ] (1945-1948: Sybilin, German: Sibyllenort) is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Długołęka, within Wrocław County, Lower Silesian Voivodeship, in south-western Poland. The settlement is located within the Silesian Lowlands, approximately 3 kilometres (2 mi) north of Długołęka, and 13 kilometres (8 mi) north-east of the regional capital Wrocław. In the 10th century Mieszko I of Poland of the Piast dynasty included these areas into newly formed Poland. Following Poland's fragmentation, it was located in the Duchy of Silesia. The village in the Duchy of Silesia was first mentioned as Palici in a 1245 deed. From 1315 it was the seat of the Rastelwitz noble family, and in 1327 it passed to the Crown of Bohemia (Czechia). It was completely destroyed in 1643 during the Thirty Years' War. In the 18th century it was annexed by Prussia, and from 1871 to 1945 it was also part of Germany. More information...
