Týn nad Vltavou (Czech pronunciation: [ˈtiːn ˈnad vl̩tavou]; German: Moldautein) is a town in České Budějovice District in the South Bohemian Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 7,800 inhabitants. It lies on the Vltava river. The historic town centre is well preserved and is protected by law as an urban monument zone. Villages of Hněvkovice na levém břehu Vltavy, Koloděje nad Lužnicí, Netěchovice, Nuzice, Předčice and Vesce are administrative parts of Týn nad Vltavou.
