Kikonai (木古内町, Kikonai-chō) is a town located in Oshima Subprefecture, Hokkaido, Japan. As of September 2016, the town has an estimated population of 4,448, and a density of 20 persons per km². The total area is 221.88 km². Kikonai is located on the southwest of the Oshima Peninsula and faces Tsugaru Strait. Kikonai's station, Kikonai Station, is located at the north end of the Seikan Tunnel, which connects the islands of Hokkaido and Honshū.
