Mukwonago is a town in Waukesha County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 7,781 at the 2020 census. The Village of Mukwonago is located mostly within the town. The unincorporated community of Jericho is also located in the town. According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 32.0 square miles (82.8 km2), of which, 30.9 square miles (80.1 km2) of it is land and 1.0 square miles (2.7 km2) of it (3.29%) is water. As of the census of 2000, there were 6,868 people, 2,184 households, and 1,965 families residing in the town. The population density was 222.2 people per square mile (85.8/km2). There were 2,241 housing units at an average density of 72.5 per square mile (28.0/km2). The racial makeup of the town was 97.90% White, 0.10% African American, 0.16% Native American, 0.32% Asian, 0.17% from other races, and 1.34% from two or more races.
