Walchwil is a village and a municipality in the canton of Zug in Switzerland. Walchwil is first mentioned in 1283 as Walchwile. Walchwil has an area, as of 2006, of 13.5 km2 (5.2 sq mi). Of this area, 41.5% is used for agricultural purposes, while 45.5% is forested. Of the rest of the land, 8.2% is settled (buildings or roads) and the remainder (4.7%) is non-productive (rivers, glaciers or mountains).
