Waukee is a city in Dallas County, Iowa, United States. The population was 23,940 at the time of the 2020 U.S. Census. It is part of the Des Moines – West Des Moines Metropolitan Statistical Area. In 2017, Apple Inc. chose Waukee as the location of a massive $1.38 billion data center campus. Waukee was laid out as a town in 1869. It is thought to be named after The Milwaukee Railroad. Waukee was incorporated on December 23, 1878.
