Wieliszew [vjɛˈliʂɛf] is a village in Legionowo County, Masovian Voivodeship, in east-central Poland, in the bifurcation of the Vistula and Narew Rivers. It is the seat of the gmina (commune or municipality as administrative district) called Gmina Wieliszew. It lies approximately 7 kilometres (4 mi) north-east of Legionowo and 26 km (16 mi) north of Warsaw. The village, which has a history of over 700 years and has been the seat of commune authorities since 1993, has a population of 3,122 and it is the most populated and economically strongest village of Gmina Wieliszew.
