Vor 1752 wurde in England der Julianische Kalender benutzt. Außerdem begann das Jahr am 25. Märzjul., also rund drei Monate nach dem Jahreswechsel im kontinentalen Europa. Geburts- und Sterbedatum finden sich in: Christopher Wren: Parentalia or Memoirs of the family of the Wrens, London 1750 (neue Auflage 1965). Kurz nach dem Tod fand sich folgende Notiz in der Zeitung The Post-Boy, Nr. 5243, Dienstag, 26. Februar bis Donnerstag, 28. Februar 1722jul.: »On Monday last, died Sir Christopher Wren, aged 92«. Seine Gedenktafel in St Paul’s Cathedral hat die Inschrift (Memento vom 18. Juni 2010 im Internet Archive) Obijt XXV Feb: An°: MDCCXXIII Æt: XCI. Man beachte, dass die Jahreszahl der Zeitung nach dem alten Stil ist, während die Jahreszahl auf der Gedenktafel nach dem neuen Stil ist.
