He was incorporated into the battalion named Tercio de Requetés Burgos-Sangüesa, where his brother Juan Pablo already served as a doctor (and later served as such in Division Azul). D’Ors later noted that “muchos no carlistas sentimos esa poderosa atracción y nos incorporamos, sin reservas al Requeté.
