About the Project: Workshop Productions of Hell was a collaborative project undertaken by Eileen Myles, Professor of Writing in the Literature Department at UCSD, and Los Angeles composer Michael Webster. The three main goals of the project were to enliven opera in America, to return poetry to a place of central importance in spectacle, and to investigate the conditions of speech post September 11.
