The Nepal Interim Government Act of 1951, Section VI, 69. states " The superintendence, direction and control of the preparation of the electoral rolls for, and the conduct of these election, and, including appointment of Election tribunals for the decision of doubts and disputes arising out of or in connection of with these election shall be vested in this Commission, which is referred to in this Act as the Election Commission."
