  • Between 1882 Archived 2024-05-21 at the Wayback Machine and 1911 Archived 2024-05-21 at the Wayback Machine, over 100,000 Spaniards moved to Algeria in search of a better life. During 1882 to 1887, it was the country that received a greater number of Spanish migrants [1] . However, a short-term migration also took place during harvesting seasons [2] Archived 2008-09-10 at the Wayback Machine. By 1915, while the total number of Spaniards in Algeria was still high, other countries in the New World had overtaken Algeria as the preferred destination.[3]
