The USS Dolphin captured the Echo, a ship based in New Orleans, Louisiana, off the coast of Cuba with 318 slaves aboard. The captain was sent to Boston, Massachusetts, for trial but the crew was sent to Charleston, South Carolina. The surviving Africans were repatriated.
