As an example, Luís Fróis wrote in the <Historia de Japam> that the Joseon army wore solid leather armor and European-style steel caps, some of which wore cast iron or iron armor. Records of distributing or inspecting the armor of Joseon soldiers during the war can be found in the Annals of the Joseon Dynasty and the Nanjung ilgi, but no records have been confirmed that the Joseon army fought without armor.
