an account posted on the Flute Player.net site, quoting from a concert programme of 1978 in which Rampal recounted how he had acquired the flute. In his autobiography Jean-Pierre gives the impression that father and son worked together on the flute, but this earlier account makes it clear that he had sent the flute to his father for him to examine and repair.
