"The school district and Hudson County Community College teamed up to provide the space for Liberty in Journal Square, where this month the high school students began to interact with college students and receive tutoring from them two days a week. It likely will not be until next year that some students are allowed to attend college classes with the chance to earn up to 24 college credits before finishing high school.... Liberty is beginning with ninth-graders and will add a grade level each year until it houses 200 high school students. The ninth-graders had to submit recommendations before their names were drawn in a lottery. Nearly 250 students applied for 50 spots."
