Liu Quanliang served as the military governor of Xuanwu only briefly—in 799, before his death—and Wang Qianxiu served as the military governor of Zhaoyi from 794 until his death in 799, so the events described must have occurred in 799 or shortly after. See Zizhi Tongjian, vol. 235.
