Pieretti's draft registration card of February 1942 lists his place of birth as Marlia, Italy.[2] This may be a reference to it:Marlia, which is located in Capannori in the Province of Lucca. Contemporary newspaper reports also note his place of birth as Marlia, Lucca, Italy.[3]
