The Cambridgeshire, Essex, and Hertford (Royston) Confirmation Order, 1894 (No. 32,192): Order made by County Councils of Cambridge, Essex, and Hertford 22 October 1894. "Division of the Rural Sanitary District of Royston thus:- So much as is situate in the Counties of Cambridge and Essex to be a separate District and known as the Melbourn Rural District; and so much as is situate in the County of Hertford to be a separate District and known as the Ashwell Rural District. Also dividing the Royston Special Drainage District into two Districts, to be named the North Royston Special Drainage District and the South Royston Special Drainage District."
