It refers to the long cylindrical white radish that grows in the Nerima area of Tokyo. The distinctive shape of the radish lends to its use as euphemism for the "legs of a fat woman." Such women are often featured in the early episodes of the show. " Oroshitate (おろしたて) is also a pun, as the daikon radish is often served grated in Japanese meals. Grated daikon would be "daikon oroshi," and if it was freshly grated it would be "oroshitate."
