Sitchin—in contradiction to all other translators of these ancient texts, who interpret them as mythological or religious discourses involving gods and spirits—views them as telling the true story of a powerful race of extraterrestrials (these would be the Anunnaki from Nibiru) visiting the Earth and mucking it up.
