Analysis of information sources in references of the Wikipedia article "Religion in the Netherlands" in English language version.
Article 1 of the Dutch Constitution says: 'All persons in the Netherlands shall be treated equally in equal circumstances.' It is therefore unconstitutional to allow certain groups of the population to slaughter without stunning, deviating from Dutch legislation which mandates stunned slaughter. It violates the principle of equality before the law that whoever slaughters an animal without stunning it can be punished, with the exception of Islamic or Israelite slaughterers.
