Retrieved February 7, 2009. The flyover included a flight of F-4 Phantoms, which were no longer operational in any component of Air Force except as target drones, for a missing man formation. The flight lead, LTC Anthony Murphy, requested family permission to modify the normal missing man procedure. Instead of having the third aircraft leave formation, Murphy had the lead aircraft, using Olds' callsign Wolf 01, pull up into a vertical climb over the grave site as a symbolic tribute to Olds' leadership (a photograph of the pull-up appears in Olds' memoirs facing page 177).
