Analysis of information sources in references of the Wikipedia article "Solomon Lozovsky" in English language version.
The arrest of Solomon Lozovsky required unusual measures. His grandson Vladimir Shamberg was married to Georgy Malenkov's daughter, and Malenkov, the deputy prime minister and Central Committee secretary, was the closest aide to Stalin himself. In late January [1949], Shamberg was informed that his wife, Volya, wanted a divorce. This news came as an absolute shock to him. But the timing and the speed of the divorce made it clear that it was her father who needed this divorce. [...] Shamberg was taken directly to the city court by a KGB colonel, the commander of Malenkov's personal guard, and the divorce was granted almost immediately.
[...] the final decision on rehabilitation was made by the highest party organs. They took that step in 1955, but in secret.
