Wischhof et al. p. 690) this is called a Wandlerschaltkupplung (abbreviated as WSK), which roughly translates into English as "(hydrodynamic torque) converter shifting clutch"

The Unimog U 20 is the first series production forward control Unimog. In 1969, Daimler-Benz presented an Unimog 416 prototype that had the forward-control cab of the Mercedes-Benz L 314 lorry instead of the Unimog 406 cab.
