Wang Chuzhi's and Wang Du's biographies in the New History of the Five Dynasties specifically referred to this incident as during a time that Li Kuangchou was the military governor of Lulong and, apparently after his defeat by Li Keyong, was trying to flee to the Tang dynasty capital Chang'an, but that would have placed the incident in 894, long before Wang Chuzhi became military governor.
