बुद्ध के बौद्ध ग्रंथों में उल्लेख मिलता है कि श्रमण गोमूत्र में शोधित की गई हर्र सदैव अपने पास रखते थे । वायु विकार या पाचन संबंधी किसी भी प्रकार के कष्ट में वे इसे जल के साथ निगल जाते थे । हर्र एक ऐसी औषधि थी जो पूर्व काल से ही प्रचलित थी और रक्त शोधक , पाचक तथा रोगप्रतिरोधक की तरह उपयोग में लायी जाती थी । गोमूत्र की भावना देकर शोधन करने से हर्र में शरीर के सभी मुख्य तंत्रों की प्रणाली को सम करने गुण आ जाते थे ।
