Dalam Statuta PSSI, Pasal 17 mengenai pemecatan disebutkan: 1. Kongres dapat memecat anggota jika: a. Anggota tidak memenuhi kewajiban keuangannya kepada PSSI; b. Anggota secara serius telah melanggar Pedoman Dasar, peraturan-peraturan, instruksi atau keputusan-keputusan FIFA, AFC, dan PSSI. 2. Pemecatan menjadi sah apabila kongres dihadiri oleh suara terbanyak mutlak (50 % + 1) dari anggota yang mempunyai hak suara dan 3/4 (tiga per empat) dari yang hadir menyetujui pemecatan tersebut.
