«However, most of the clinical trials are methodologically weak. Common flaws include an insufficient control of nonspecific effects, inadequate control interventions, and small sample sizes. Another problem is, as Skrabanek noted more than 20 years ago, “selective inattention” to results that fail to fulfill the hopes of acupuncturists.
