«65: Lady Godiva. Beginning in 1919, the Engineering Students Society developed many traditions, and some of them are still preserved in the annual Engineering Week. Among those that have been lost: the custom of parading a nubile young lady on horseback across campus in the tradition of Lady Godiva. In the early years, Godiva was played by a male student in costume; later, by a real woman in the flesh (quite literally).»
