«In the general population, Kinsey and associates (Kinsey, Pomeroy, & Martin, 1948; Kinsey, Pomeroy, Martin, & Gebhard, 1953) reported these prevalence rates of at least one sexual contact between humans and other animals: 8% for males, and 1.5% (preadolescence) and 3.6% (postadolescence) for females. They found higher frequencies in rural settings, with 40–50% of the rural population engaging in sexual activity with animals. Rates also were higher among individuals with lower educational status.»
