"SCO Webtop" は1996年11月8日に米国で商標として登録されている。しかし、その後も Tarantella Webtop は技術的進化を遂げていったため、SCOが混乱を避けるために1997年12月24日に登録を取り消した。そのため、uspto.gov で "Webtop" を検索してみても最初の登録は見つからず、二次的なものしか出てこない。
