1972年11月8日、ザッパはニューヨークのエレクトリック・レディ・スタジオで、ゴードン、ゴードンの友人で当時ウェスト、ブルース&レイングのアメリカ・ツアーに参加していたブルース、ザ・プチ・ワズーのメンバーだったトニー・デュラン（ギター）とジャム・セッションを行なった。この時の音源の一つが、1974年に発表されたザッパのソロ・アルバム『アポストロフィ (')』のタイトル曲になった。この時の別の音源に含まれたゴードンの演奏に後日ザッパがダビングを行なったものが'Down In De Dew'として、ザッパの遺族が発表したLäther（1996年）に収録された。
