Lam (2002, p. 169) や永田 (1984, p. 158) には局所環の名前は Chevalley (1943) によると書かれている。しかし Zariski (1943, p. 497) にWe propose the translation: “local rings.”と書かれており、また論文の受付日は Chevalley (1943) は1943年8月12日で Zariski (1943) は1942年9月1日である。
