Refugees had gradually returned to both al Walaja and al Qabu, which were in Israeli territory, and the IDF wanted them empty. On 1 May, Israeli troops raided them, and the inhabitants fled and the troops blew up their houses. A few weeks later, the IDF raided the village of Wadi Fukin, on the Jordanian side of the border and expelled its inhabitants. ….. Al walaja en Qabu…IDF wanted them empty."
