‘no Traces Of Life’: Israel’s Ecocide In Gaza 2023-2024. Forensic Architecture, update 20 aug 2024.
"Since 2014, Palestinian farmers along Gaza’s perimeter have seen their crops sprayed by airborne herbicides and regularly bulldozed, and have themselves faced sniper fire by the Israeli occupation forces. […] The destruction of agricultural land and infrastructure in Gaza is a deliberate act of ecocide and a critical dimension of Israel’s genocidal campaign. […] Vital agricultural infrastructure such as greenhouses has also been systematically destroyed since the launch of the ground invasion."
R.J. Rummel, Definition of Democide Death by Government, Chapter 2. "Unlike the concept of genocide, it is restricted to intentional killing, and does not extend to attempts to eliminate cultures, races, or a people by means other than killing people. Moreover, democide is not limited to the killing component of genocide, nor to politicide, mass murder or massacre, or terror. It includes them all and also what they exclude, as long as such killing is a purposive act, policy, process, or institution of government."
Friendly Fire and The Limits of The Military Justice System. Michael J. Davidson, Naval War College Review, Vol. 64, No. 1 (Winter 2011). "Friendly fire, also called "amicide," "fratricide," or "blue on blue," has been a constant problem in warfare since the beginning of recorded time."
