During a press conference at the 2010 Edinburgh International Television Festival, series executive producer Steven Moffat indicated that the 13-episode 2011 production block will be split into two series which he referred to as Series 6 and 7.[1] As of September 2010 the BBC has yet to confirm whether it will consider the split season to be two separate series.
