(---) Kirsten Alnæs is a Norwegian social anthropologist. She spent some years among the people of Bakonzo in Uganda. Her doctoral subject was cosmology. She also did field work in Botswana. For many years Kirsten Alnæs was based in London, where she was a member of the Department of Anthropology at University College London. She won the Ministry of Church Affairs and education prize for her children's book, Pio (1978), which has been translated into Danish and Swedish.»
