This species is distributed in the Indian Ocean along the Mascarene Basin; in the Pacific Ocean along Japan and Papua New Guinea. Looks similar to C. palmarosae but has shorter fronts but differs from the torrefactus by have beautiful pinkish fronts at the end of each spines.
