Analysis of information sources in references of the Wikipedia article "Stema Paraguayului" in Romanian language version.
Under the dictator José Gaspar Rodríguez de Francia (1814-40) the French colors were adopted for the flag. The coat of arms (a golden star surrounded by a wreath) is on the obverse side, but the seal of the treasury (a lion, staff, and liberty cap, with the motto "Peace and Justice") is on the reverse; the flag is unique in this respect.
